Cisco College STEM Outreach Program



The WTSC has partnered with Cisco College to coordinate the STEM Outreach Program.

Mr. Zane Laws, Professor of Biology and Chemistry, and volunteers of the WTSC are hosting summer science labs for the community this July. The program is for adults and has three dates. Each session is one hour. Additionally, Cisco College also has a Homeschool Fair scheduled for July, which will last five hours.

Each event is free to attendees and will be held at Cisco College, Abilene Campus at 1:00 P.M. on the scheduled day.

The dates and times for available sessions are:
  • July 29, 2024, 2:00 - 7:00 PM (set-up volunteers arrive 30 minutes early)

These are one hour hands-on activity. Participants will learn the parts of microscopes and how to use it. They will also use the microscope to see bacteria, tissues, and living microbes in pond water.

Interested persons need to sign up before July 10th in order to have adequate equipment and supplies available. Attendees will receive a handout that describes the activity.

Classes are limited to ten attendees and are held at:
Cisco College Abilene Education Center, 717 E. Industrial Blvd, Abilene, TX
